We need to open the Atlantic Beach boardwalk (to residents of Village of AB and AB Estates only) so that the streets are not overflowing with excess people walking or biking - this is a safety hazard both for car traffic and social distancing.

One suggestion is to have security staff on the 3 boardwalk entrances to check ID, such as drivers license or beach passes, in order to confirm resident status. This will enable an extra lane of pedestrian traffic flow on the boardwalk and will keep excess people out of the streets for optimal safety.

While we understand that additional security staff may not be readily available, we implore the Village of Atlantic Beach to consider creative solutions for opening our boardwalk to enable pedestrians to walk safely in our neighborhoods. Our residential streets have been overflowing with walkers, runners, bikers, etc. We are concerned for the safety and health of everyone in our community!
