Save the Atlanta Beltline kitties!
This petition made change with 72 supporters!
Most people don't see the shy little family of feral kitties near the Midtown Promenade and the new Beltline, but they have lived there quietly and peacefully for many years. These kitties are all altered and fed by loving volunteers. The cats are now in imminent danger of being removed and killed. The Beltline is planning some erosion control work, and the volunteers have offered to shuttle the kitties around the construction, but the Beltline and the Midtown Promenade have said the kitties must go permanently, or they will bring professional trappers in.
What the Beltline and Midtown Promenade don't seem to realize is that Trap-Neuter-Return, commonly referred to as "TNR," is the only method proven to be humane and effective at controlling feral cat population growth. TNR has many advantages, including immediately stabilizing the size of the colony by eliminating new litter. Additionally, the sterilized colony also guards its territory, preventing unneutered cats from moving in and beginning the cycle of overpopulation and problem behavior anew.
Please sign the petition to help us persuade The Beltline and Midtown Promenade to let these innocent kitties keep their home in Midtown!
