Due to covid-19 and the new variants, Atherton jr/sr high school isn’t allowing students to let friends or significant others from other schools to come to our homecoming. 

Homecoming is always one of the highlights of high school people think about on a yearly basis. There is always a lasting impression on school dances, so why can’t we enjoy them with our partners and friends even if they don’t attend the same school as us?

If you look at bigger schools policies on homecoming rules, they offer guest passes. I have talked to multiple people from various schools including Kearsley, Davison, Carmen-Ainsworth, Mt. Morris and Grand Blanc. Schools the same size as Atherton such as Bentley also allows it. 

If multiple schools in Genesee county are doing it, why can’t we?
