Athena Strand, a Texas 7-year-old girl, was kidnapped and killed by a FedEx delivery driver. The news of this monstrosity was released on all social platforms and news outlets across the nation. I quickly thought about the vetting and onboarding/hiring process of FedEx and other delivery-driving companies out there, including Amazon. What background checks, if any, are being done in the hiring process? Are references being called? Are there people doing their jobs, ensuring they are giving the right people access to our homes, addresses, and personal information? We also need to worry about food/grocery delivery to expand upon package delivery. This gives millions access to disabled, elderly, and young children locations nationwide. I petition that all delivery companies make a "PROMISE TO ENSURE SAFETY" plan, which includes increasing their protocols during the hiring and onboarding processes. To include a thorough federal background check, a complete check-through with references of up to five or more, a driver's license, and a secondary ID. 

I think it is an apparent reason we need this immediate change of action from ALL delivery companies, for the sake of our children, our elderly, our dependant and disabled.
