Since the time the LG Thrill has been released their has been talk about sending an update to the phone. This upgrade should allow the phone to have better battery life, increased network speeds and allow the phone to function more reliably. 

LG has on there description of the phone that it is 'Android 2.2 Platform Upgradable to 2.3'.  http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-P925.jsp

LG also mentioned that they would have the update for the Thrill by the end of 2011. LG was able to release the Gingerbread update for the sister phone (same exact hardware) LG Optimus 3D in mid November of 2011.
