Why this petition matters

Started by Nick Trubilla

Motorcycles are an important mode of transportation for many in our community, not to mention a source of recreation and personal fulfillment.  Motorcyclists are contributing members of society and the Twin Rivers Community like anyone else, and should not be singled out from parking within the residential areas that the motorcyclists live and participate in.  The HOA bylaws ban parking motorcycles to "preserve esthetic harmony within the development" and enforce doing so with tickets, requiring motorcyclists to keep their lawfully registered motor vehicles out on the streets of the outskirts of the community.  This makes the motorcycles which our fellow residents rely on for safe transportation vulnerable to theft, vandalism, and the elements.  In reality, the solution of forcing motorcycles to be parked out on the outskirts is arguably a worse solution for the esthetics of our neighborhood (while also inviting theft, which would affect everyone's insurance rates and property values).  Look at the aesthetics of my adored motorcycle, damaged by a windstorm, and exposed out on the road!

Signers of this petition, Association Members of Twin Rivers, ask that the Twin Rivers Community Trust reconsider allowing the parking of motorcycles within the development, in the assigned parking of their owners.  Please reconsider the practice of discriminating against motorcycles within the development!
