The AP Stylebook, also known by its full name The Associated Press Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law, is an American English grammar style and usage guide created by American journalists working for or connected with the Associated Press. Yet, this style guide has expanded far beyond its reach in the landscape of newswriting. The Associated Press Stylebook has become a dated hindrance to grammar, creating arbitrary rules for an entire industry created by one of its foremost agencies. While it is not required to follow this style guide, it is a major source of confusion in a world of conflicting words of God. We call to disband the style guide en masse, with the hope of creating a brighter future for academic writers everywhere.
