I am a physician who loses income and valuable family time in order to continue serving my country in the ARNG. I am counting on ongoing Special Pay to help offset the costs of service. Unfortunately, the availability of Special Pay will be a considerable factor when it comes time to renew my contract.

I am an incoming Student-Physician. I would love to stay in the ARNG for as long as I can. It would definitely keep my wife on board!

Without special pay incentive, retention will suffer, medical readyness will decrease and army costs will rise.

I'm signing because we need to maintain competitive advantage by retaining knowledgeable dentists. Keep incentives, this will have a negative impact on dental officer retention.

Due to a progressive loss of income that I experience by serving in the national guard

I am curious to know if this violate any legal contract since most of the M-Day Health Professionals sign an 8 years commitment with the understanding that CME, HPLRP, or Bonus would be provided. I am a M-Day Dentist and I think it is rather a bait and switch situation to obligate someone for 8 years and not provide the sufficient incentives that were promised or proposed. I am having such a difficult time with the CME right now. If this really is the current situation, I highly doubt my continual service post my initial commitment.

I am a PA in the military and feel that if this incentive is stopped, the military will lose a lot of valuable soldiers with experience and it may prevent us from continuing our service as most of us take a pay cut in order to serve our country

I am signing this petition to continue the signing bonus because without it it would be too extremely cost prohibitive for me to continue serving in the Army National Guard.
I had 6 years prior service as a full time officer, and recently as my youngest is nearing graduation I felt I could once again serve my country in a part time roll in the Michigan Army National Guard.
I enjoy serving, but even with the bonus it is a bit of a financial hardship. You see, in my private practice I gross about $3125 per day worked. In contrast, and even WITH the yearly bonus, with the Army I gross $925 per day, and WITHOUT the signing bonus I would only gross $300 a day served.
I do need to plan for the future and my family, and as much as I like serving my country, I need to serve my family as well.
That is why I respectfully ask for the signing bonus to be re-instated, for without it I fear I will not be able to re-sign when my current commitment ends.
Respectfully yours,

Captain David J Wadas, DDS
