Petition update

Time to reach out: why are citation networks important

Thank you, to all supporters! We're well beyond the milestone of 50. Thank you also to those who left their reason to sign the petition. When we reach 100 supporters, I'll start reaching out to ACS journals.

For now, please share this petition in your social networks, and let your followers/friends know why you think they should be aware of the petition. To support explaining why citation networks (which articles cites which article) is useful, I started showing a number of examples using the #acs2ioc hashtag I set up for this petition. The bubble chart associated with this update shows what topics articles are about that cite JACS. When the ACS joined the I4OC, then we can make similar plots for the topics articles that get cited by JACS are about.

Oh, and let me know if you also have a nice use case for citation networks for the ACS journals!
