Petitioning AskDOJ@usdoj.gov.

put an end to stop and frisk policies and racial profiling.

In Fla and in NYC we have recently witnessed the heartbreaking results of racial profiling and overzealous law enforcement run amok. The deaths of 18 year old Rahmarley Graham and 17 year old Trayvon Martin, along with countless other nameless, faceless men and women throughout the history of this country should weigh heavily on the conscious of every responsible American. No community should be singled out for abuse regardless of race, age, gender, sexuality, income or mental health status. As Americans we should all have the right to go about our business without fear of harassment from law enforcement. The tragedies we have seen in recent weeks were completely avoidable. It is time for a change.

Racial profiling is an inefficient, counterproductive policy that fosters distrust, animosity and injustice. Please join with us to put an end to this shameful practice that is a relic of a past era in American history. The marches, protests, petitions and the subsequent dismissal of these incidents have become routine. Enough is enough. Equal protection under the law for all Americans.
