Donald J Trump has avoided accountability for 'alleged' criminal activity for decades. In recent years, evidence continues to mount of his tax fraud, he interfered in the 2020 election, he is still being investigated for causing the Jan 6 insurrection, and to this day he continues to impede U.S. democracy by spreading misinformation about the 2020 election. Most recently, the Justice Department issued a search warrant for Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence which was duly executed by the FBI. Thousands of pages of documents were retrieved, many of them classified, some at the most top secret level. Mr. Trump illegally took these to his residence when he left office; any other citizen would have been in jail by now.

I'm starting this petition on behalf of millions of U.S. citizens that are frustrated beyond belief that Mr. Trump has not yet been indicted for what are his obvious and blatant crimes. The Justice Department certainly has more than enough evidence to indict; the only reasons they would hesitate at this point would be political. Such hesitation is unconcionable and a blow to U.S. democracy. @TheJusticeDept must take immediate action; not doing so allows Mr. Trump to continue to avoid accountability and risks DOJ losing all credibility. 

At a time when the country has already lost faith in our Supreme Court, when democracy is attacked not only through an insurrection, but continuously through misinformation and mistrust in our election systems due to that misinformation, we can't afford to lose faith in our Justice System as well. Every day on public forums I see citizens across the political spectrum asking why Donald J Trump has not yet been indicted for his crimes. For all of these reasons I ask for help gaining signatures for this petition to the Justice Department. Please help forward this petition for maximum impact!
