ASK THE DIRECTOR OF FIRST BUS TO MAKE HORFIELD AND MANOR FARM MORE CONNECTED WITH THE NEW

ASK THE DIRECTOR OF FIRST BUS TO MAKE HORFIELD AND MANOR FARM MORE CONNECTED WITH THE NEW
The Issue
As local residents we are always pleased to see the introduction of new bus routes in our city, and recently this included the new number 77
However, we feel this could be improved to serve Horfield and Manor Farm even better
What is currently needing improvement?
If you look at the map below the route of the new 77 is very clearly V shaped.
It fails to serve Horfield residents as it barely comes into the area, and does not offer the service that residents in the Manor Farm and Wellington Hill West areas in particular would value, i.e. there is no easy link for us to many shopping facilities by bus
as it stands it just duplicates on right hand side of the V the 75 and 76 routes which also serve that stretch and beyond Northwards.
What could this improvement look like?
A closing of the loop and taking the route along Wellington Hill West which runs along the edge of Manor Farm would result in a very useful and we believe a well-used service.
Were the missing link to be added to the 77 we would have a terrific service that would give us a bus service that could take the local community to Henleaze shopping street one way and the whole of the Gloucester Road shops and other services the other way.
The loop could be closed by either taking it through the hospital (through the Hospital Transport Hub) or along Wellington Hill West,
We ask that the number 77 bus route be extended so that it joins up from Southmead Road to Gloucester Road and serves the residents of Horfield, Manor Farm area in particular, but also residents of Henleaze in the streets adjacent to Wellington Hill West.
This petition will be submitted to the Director of First Bus
