OJR School Board President, Paul Friel, blames charter school tuition and underfunding from the State. Norristown Area School District and Pottstown Area School District, both underfunded by $13m each, both with triple the amount in charter tuition, both with a 0% tax increase for their residents.

Inflation is at 8.6%, but wages are only up 5.2%. Residents are already feeling a 3.4% inflation tax. Now Friel and the SB want to add another 1.98% increase in school taxes on top of that. Bringing the total impact to 5.38%.

Friel and the School Board are not in touch with the financial struggles everyday Americans are up against. They continue to defend discretionary projects while they squeeze every ounce of savings they can from the regular and special education budget.

Friel has repeatedly said "we're out of options" for reducing the budget. With rising interest rates and consumer prices for everyday goods like gas, groceries and rent at a 40-year-high it's the residents that are out of options. Tell Friel and the rest of the School Board Directors NO tax increase is the only option!
