We'd like the United Nations and the world governments to put pressure on the Indian government to release the Kashmiri leader YASIN MALIK immediately. As a major trade partner of India the most UN Security Council memekbers have a lot of influence which they should use to support the peaceful struggle of the Kashmiris' right of self- determination

Yasin Malik has campaigned for the right of self-determination of his Kashmiri people through peaceful means and a political struggle since 1990. He's always opposed the violence whatsoever. He's refused to defend the charges of 'supporting terrorism' against him. His political struggle is in line with the United Nations resolutions going back to 1948 promising the people of Kashmir a free and fair plebiscite to decide their future. Malik's conviction was an unfair trial without a due process according to all international human rights organisations.
