Ask someone (including yourself) if they support equal rights for all people.

If they say yes, ask them if they support marriage for same-sex couples.

If they answer yes, thank them.

If they answer no, remind them that they need to rethink their answer to the first question, because they're inconsistent. Help them understand why.
