"Beta, your father is no more - I am a passenger seated next to your wailing mother..." , said the voice as I recoiled under shock and horror. I lost him in a second! It was only a few days ago that I dropped my father and mother to the Delhi railway station - an onward journey of joy as dad was going to meet his college friends celebrating golden jubilee of his college in Dhanbad.

The return journey, he could never complete. With mom by his side, he breathed his last on board Jan Shatabdi, going from Bokaro to Gaya

At Koderma railway station, my dad started feeling uneasy. With only mom by his side, he started to remove his clothes for he was sweating profusely. Mom gave all the medicines, and cried for help. The TTE came and ignored suggesting that it lies outside his purview. My dad kept juggling with life for the next hour, and finally leaving all of us alone. A smiling, happy go lucky life, perished just because of the apathy of the TTE and other railway staff. Passengers tried to help, but couldn't. The TTE flee when he saw that the passengers were in no mood to spare him. We needed a doctor, and they came too late when my dad had already left us all.

I would hope that this never repeats itself ever and no one else loses his / her close ones due to reasons that are clearly avoidable. Please sign this petition, and make the railways a safer place. I have been writing to concerned ministry for action against the TTE, however, so far with no avail. Please help.
