Request DGCA to change aircraft registration initials after 70 years of independence

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

We have completed 70 years of independence yet the colonial overhang refuses to die down. All aircrafts in India are registered with the prefix: VT, which stands for Viceroy Territory. The issue was raised in Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour by BJP MP Shri Tarun Vijay who sought a change in the aircraft registration code, which was retained by India after Independence. Even countries like Fiji, Nepal and Pakistan have changed their codes, while India has still not done so.

Should we still continue with such a piece of unwarranted and unwanted colonial legacy? Please help me in petitioning the Hon. Union Minister of Civil Aviation, The Hon. Minister of State, The Director General of DGCA and the Union Civil Aviation Secretary to remove this reminder of our dark colonial past.
