Fundamental Issue: Pavergate
Feb 9, 2014 — The people of Ashland were shown and promised one Plaza, with more greenery and salmon colored pavers, but were delivered an entirely different Plaza with little greenery and dark gray pavers. Clearly two out of every three Ashlanders (as noted in recent SP poll) and many tourists, counting over 500 petitioners, are very displeased with the look and feel of the current Plaza and are demanding fundamental changes.
This is a separate issue from exploring what went wrong with the process. The real Pavergate is the ugly Plaza that is in dire need of fixing.
All our energy should go to fixing the Plaza first. We can deal with the screw-ups in the process, separately.
