Support the proposal for a pump-track at Haw Creek Park, Asheville

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!

A pump track will provide a sports focused playground. The facility will require little to no maintenance, catering to all ages, year-round.  The park is located near the new upcoming library and Creekside Tap house, it will be easily accessible by either; car, bike or on foot. It has great potential to benefit the community in multiple ways; holding biking programs for low income residents, increasing fitness and exposure to sports, creating a public open space for community gatherings, improving an existing facility by maximizing its use.
This is a grass-roots community project. We will not be relying on local government funding but rather grants and community funds.

A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders "pumping"—generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing. It was originally designed for the mountain bike and BMX scene, and now, due to concrete constructions, is also used by skateboard, and accessible to wheelchairs. Pump tracks are relatively simple to use and cheap to construct, and cater to a wide variety of rider skill levels.

It caters to all levels and ages, young and young at heart
Can be used year-round

This project is a grass-roots, community effort from start to finish. We need your help to get the city council and the Park and Recs department on our side to allow this project to move forward.
