Protect Asheville's Unhoused Citizens

Protect Asheville's Unhoused Citizens
The city of Asheville is planning to evict the unhoused people who have developed an encampment near I-240 on the property of Haywood Congregation within the next few days. With below-freezing temperatures at night and no place for many of these people to go, how can the city evict people off of private property when the owners of that property approve of how it is being used?
With winter around the corner, I urge the City Council to take steps to STOP this eviction and to pursue safe shelter/housing options IMMEDIATELY for Asheville's unhoused population. Do not leave our citizens out in the cold. Everyone deserves a safe, warm place to call home.
