Stop the variance request for a 3 story storage facility near our homes!
This petition made change with 528 supporters!
Mr Fetzer has submitted a variance request for a 3 story storage unit to be built on the vacant lot beside Walgreens on Hwy. 74. This variance will be voted on at this month's zoning committee meeting being held Tuesday at 6:00pm at the Ascension Parish Courthouse.
Please show your support against this project by attending the meeting in person, sending written letters to our board to take with them to the meeting, or by signing this petition along with your comments about how this project will impact your home and community.
This project will only benefit Mr. Fetzer and his associates. There is no need for a new storage unit in this area, considering a larger facility is currently being built only a few miles away on Hwy. 73. Additionally, this project will result in no new jobs in our community, the developer has stated that he will be training some of his other employees to work at the storage unit as needed. The development will impact the quality of life of residents in nearby subdivisions by increasing traffic on the already congested 73 & 74 highways, providing a venue for increased crime, and block light and air to the adjoined lots.
Please consider the impact that this development will have on our community and the precedent that this may sent for future development.
