Petition for AISD Board Members,

We hereby ask and encourage AISD to align with the Governor’s orders of lifting the mask mandate. According to our district’s website Health protocols, (point 2 under mitigation) states, “In compliance with the governor’s executive order regarding wearing masks, fourth grade through twelfth grade and all staff will wear masks.”

Our students have been required to wear masks to comply with the Governor’s Executive order. Now, the executive order has been lifted, and AISD needs to quickly comply with lifting the mandate from our schools. Teachers and students who wish to continue wearing masks are still afforded the opportunity to do so. However, teachers and students who would choose not to wear a mask are not afforded the same freedom of choice under the current regulations.

TEA has stated that local school boards have full authority to determine their local mask mandates. Considering that our district’s mask mandate was created to comply with the Governor’s Executive order, the only sensible option is to lift the mask order from our schools now that the Executive order has been lifted. We respectfully request and support the school board taking immediate action to allow all parents the option to choose what is best for our own children.

If you feel led, please sign your name below so that we may present this to the Argyle ISD School Board.

*Please do not donate money for this petition. We are using this only to show the Argyle ISD board who is in support of this petition.

Sincerely,

Concerned Parents of Argyle ISD
