Delhi and NCR and entire northern states are hit by worst smog pre to post diwali due to a number of reasons, stuble burning, construction dust, factory emissions, vehicle emissions which are a major factor, in the last couple of years we have had odd - even days in delhi, cars older than 15 yrs are scrapped , disel vehicles have their own problems , however i do not see any effort by the government to promote Electric Vehicles ,,, besides reducing the emissions drastically ,they have reduced cost of running .50/p per kms ...

As per a recent study in india about 6000 electric vehicles were bought in the last 6 years in comparison to the same bought in 1 month in china and other few contries which are trying to reduce the carbon footprints 

The main glinch about buying or using these cars are as follows :-

Car makers are few (however it will catch up if properly promoted and the demand rises)

Infrastructure to charge the car at malls ,outside government offices , sight seeing places ,parks etc is missing 

As a house wife with growing children who need to be taken out seperately for tutoons, birthday parties ,we need a seperate car than the one taken by husband to office  , i have been on a look out of an Electric vehicle but considering the cost of buying (5-7 lakhs ) and the only car available currently E2O i had no option but to buy a normal automted car for this purpose at half the cost ,,,i am sure many people in the uppermiddle class would like to buy this car if the above considerations are taken seriously .

I sincerely feel if the government state as well as centre thinks and desides about some kind of subsidy ,or mandatory buying EV only as a second as some households have 3 or 4 cars too ...it will help in reducing poluttion , cost of buying and running a car ,import of petrol will be reduced ...

Why doesnt government official use electric car for travel within citi or short distances ?

I feel why the autos are not scrapped and moved into small electric covered cars only , for 1 the temperatures in delhi are extreme , a covered vehicle saves u from dust ...

I request you to look into my view which are shared by many of my friends and family ...
