Municipal authorities of Delhi have closed the weekly Sunday Bazaar, that was held on the pavements of Daryaganj for over 50 years.
Many of us who are either born and brought up here or have been living here for many years have experienced the uniqueness of this bazaar, which is a rich source of used but sometimes rare books at throwaway prices. In fact there would hardly be a book lover in Delhi, who would not have visited this wonderful bazaar at some time or the other and enjoyed browsing the treasure displayed on the pavements of Daryaganj.
It would be a great loss to the book lovers of Delhi , if this bazaar is not allowed to open again. It is almost like an institution, that is patronised by people from all walks of life.
