The Government has proposed an amendment to the Right To Information Act for excluding political parties from the purview of this Act. We need to vociferously OPPOSE this move as transparency with regard to the doings and activities of political parties is a prerequisite to good governance. It has become the norm now for political parties to woo voters come election time and TOTALLY ignore them once elected. With them within the purview of the RTI, at least they become answerable to their constituency, their activites can be questioned and then they cannot blatantly ignore or lie about or them..as is their wont. We need to ACT NOW. Pl share and exhort people you know to sign this petition..Let us, at the very least, register our protest.
