Local Guyra and Armidale rate payers are not being listened to in regards to NERT and their rail trail proposal. Simon Murray, the Mayor of ARC is turning a blind eye to the majority of the public who are against the proposal and is trying to use ratepayers funds to fund the New England rail trail. As it stands, the ARC are millions of dollars in debt already, so how and where the money will come from is anyone’s guess. We want the railway reopened so people can travel from Sydney to Brisbane and visversa. It is an affordable and cheap way for low to middle income earners to travel and is certainly more reliable than travelling by plane. So get behind the cause and save our rail.
