What is the point of having a General Land Use Plan and zoning laws if they are ignored willy-nilly by the County staff and board. People who buy properties have the right to assume that the rules governing that property won't be changed without their consent.

Another mid-rise/high-rise will skew balance of community and negatively impact traffic

Abide by Arlington County's land use plans which involved the input of the community, developers and County staff. Increasingly developers want to ignore these land use plans whether it be for apartments, condos or hotels. Variance from these land use plans should be the rare exception rather than what appears to be the County's policy to let the developers easily seek waivers to construct taller and denser buildings. It is the nearby residences that bear the negative externalities associated with these waivers. One example, is our parks are overused. They are mud puddles during the wet months and dust bowls during the dry months. When one calls to address this problem, staff says it is not a priority for them.

What good is a plan if you don't stay with it?

Please DENY the proposal to change zoning on 11th & N. Vermont to keep Arlington's existing plan for height and density to BENEFIT all Arlington residents.

We face the same problems with the county's desire to change current zoning and upset an existing neighborhood all to benefit developers in the quadrant bordered by Washington Blvd, Quincy, I-66 and Kirkwood. The over-development and the county's over-reach have to stop!
