Help us get Alice Melis our foreign exchange student to walk at graduation!

Alice is our Italian foreign exchange student that's been attending Arlington High School as a senior for this past school year. She came to experience American high school culture and being that she's committed herself to all of this year's senior activities it seems fit that she should participate in walking at Graduation with the rest of her class. We think it would only be appropriate to allow Alice to be recognized for all of her work at Arlington by allowing her to walk. Alice has quickly become apart of the Lion Pride here at Arlington and a loved member of our community here at school. Arlington High School is a inclusive and welcoming community, and Alice's absence at Graduation would not reflect what we've built these past four years. We want to see Alice walk along with the rest of us lions at Graduation to commemorate the great year we've had together.
California Education Code Section 51225.5 specifies that the governing board of any school district maintaining a high school may confer honorary high school diplomas upon foreign exchange students from other countries who have not completed the course of study ordinarily required for graduation, and who are returning to their home countries following the completion of one academic school year in a school district in the state.
Honorary high school diplomas awarded pursuant to this section shall be clearly distinguishable from the regular diplomas of graduation awarded by the district.
