Aaron Pace started this petition to Arkansas State Senate and

Persons elected to the United States Congress do not have term limits like the Presidentof the United States. This means that, if they are continually reeleceted, they can make a career out of public office. This can, and has, caused corruption at the highest levels in our government.

We need our State Legislature to call a convention of the states to enact an amendment to the Constitution of the United States that limits the terms of these individuals in such a way as to ensure the passage of power to new individuals more regularly. In order to safe guard our freedoms and way of life from those that would use their ability to remain in office pseudo indefinitely to abuse that power to the detriment of the greater good.

There are members of Congress that have been in office for well over 20 years. Congress enacted an amendment to the Constitution to limit the terms of the President of the United States to two terms. The reasoning for this was that no one should be allowed to hold power for too long lest they abuse that power. I submit that Congress has the same issue, and it is time for them to have term limits as well.

Please sign this petition and help save our great nation from would be tyrants.
