Arkansas State Senate Judiciary Committee: Stop the consideration of Senate Bill #13 and Senate Bill #14

Senate Bill #13 and Senate Bill #14 are currently being considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee and scheduled for hearing on Wednesday, 6 March. Both of these bills, if passed into law, would render the existing felony animal cruelty act useless. Feral, abused, abandoned, and stray cats would be left on their own since these bills will make it unlawful for us to TNR or rescue any cat that may have an owner, even if it is suspected the cat has been abandoned.

I strongly urge you to stop the consideration of Senate Bill #13 and Senate Bill #14. Both of these bills, if passed into law, would render the existing felony animal cruelty act useless. Feral, abused, abandoned, and stray cats would be left on their own since these bills will make it unlawful for us to trap, neuter, and release or rescue any cat that may have an owner, even if it is suspected the cat has been abandoned. I have great concern for the welfare and well-being of the animals of our great state, and I would greatly appreciate if my concern was reflected by the members of Arkansas State Judiciary Committee.
