Jennifer Bucholtz started this petition to Arkansas state police

On September 20, 2004, Rebekah Gould was brutally murdered in Melbourne, Arkansas.  Nearly 15 years later, the Arkansas State Police has not made an arrest in the case.  Private donors have pledged thousands of dollars for the establishment of a reward fund, in an effort to encourage those with critical information to come forward.  The Arkansas State Police has ignored requests to utilize this money to establish an official reward fund and advertise the reward.  Supporters are willing to pay the costs of advertising the reward money.

The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate (1) the level of public support in seeking justice for Rebekah and (2) the dissatisfaction at the lack of forward progress in this murder case by the investigating authority.  Monetary rewards have been instrumental in leading to an arrest and conviction in countless other murder cases across the country.  The same opportunity should be afforded to this murder victim and her family, particularly because the Arkansas State Police do not have to provide the reward money, or advertising costs, via their agency.  They simply have to be willing to accept, and follow-up on, new tips and leads provided to them as a result of the reward fund.
