This past school year has been a very stressful year for every student and teacher. I believe that it would be very unfair to make students take standardized tests. These test results are not going to be very pleasing to the students, their parents, teachers, or schools to look at. It has been very difficult to keep up with school due to distance learning. Most students learn best visually. We haven't been able to go to school and it's really hard to keep up with our teachers online. The internet also becomes an issue almost every day causing us to miss important information. The teachers have also been trying to do their best but they can only do so much. There is no point in taking this test because it will only discourage students. No one wants to get back their test results and see "not proficient". We don't need a test to just confirm that we are behind. This year was not normal. It has been a lot to take in. We students are only trying to survive a pandemic and adding a test will only make it more stressful. Almost every student is emotionally and mentally exhausted. We need time to focus on our mental healths rather than a test that is only going to state that we are behind.
