Plans to build a hydro electric power plant in northern Yavapai county will draw an initial 28,000 ACRE Feet ( 9.1 billion gallons approx) of water and an annual 1200 ACRES Feet. The water will be pumped from the Big Chino Aquifer to supply a lower and upper reservior to generate power.
Arizona has a precious but limited water resource, it should not be wasted anymore.
Arizona has entered an extended period of drought, rainfall is not expected to maintain current population growth nor the upper Verde river.
