Training is unpaid and can range from 20hrs to 30hrs per week, up to 6 weeks. In addition to training, hours for self-pace outside of class is also required.

Unpaid training places a strain on families and caregivers. Families and individuals are unable to pay for child care, food, bills, and other bare necessities for weeks or even months.

To add, the pay is usually less than $15.00 an hour and should be higher due to:

• You are not paid time and a half for overtime worked
• No sick pay
• No vacation pay
• No healthcare
• No PTO
• No Federal Holiday Pay
• No utility assistance
• No internet or phone allowance

As an Independent Contractor, pay should start off no less than $25 an hour due to no benefits or time and a half for overtime.
