Bullying is designed to humiliate, subjugate and break it's victims. It causes life-long damage and severe self-esteem issues, especially in young people but also amongst adults. In a world where our teachers, parents, guardians and mental health care workers battle depressive illnesses, anxiety and suicides caused by constant and systematic bullying and character assasinations, we must make a defiant stand against such behaviour. The behaviour of Andrea Moss and Lydia Schiavello on the reality show The Real Housewives of Melbourne can be described as nothing but the worst kind of bullying behaviour. Constant bitching, nasty remarks and harassment, ridicule, humiliation and gang attacks which have caused much pain and suffering to their intended victim - Gina Liano, a cancer survivor and single mother of two.
PERHAPS NEVER BEFORE, HAVE AUSTRALIAN AUDIENCES UNANYMOUSLY BEEN SO REPULSED AND DISGUSTED BY REAL AND CONSTANT BULLYING BEHAVIOUR ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. IT HAS BEEN ABSURD AND DISTRESSING TO WATCH.
It is for this reason that the Australian viewing public is so outraged that such people are given a public stage to conduct their horrific abuse. This is why we petition Arena Network to remove these two perpetrators from any future seasons of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. We must make a stand and show our children that adults do not condone this behaviour. Not among children and certainly not among adults. To allow them to stay on, would demonstrate that bullying is acceptable and without repercussions to the agressors. Further, removing the bullies from the cast line-up may give them the time needed to re-assess their actions.
