Just got an Amazon Echo Studio with Alexa and a subscription to Amazon music. It's wonderful! I'm 62 years old and can listen to years of songs that I have loved throughout my life, especially those of my youth (60s and 70s). There's only one problem, particularly with the songs from my youth. I can't listen to the vast majority of the these songs anymore because they have been ruined by being played in television commercials. Now when I listen to Simon & Garfunkel's "America", a song that has been very precious to me and that has meant so much to me in my life, I think of a %$@!## Volkswagen commercial!!!

I'm writing this petition to respectfully ask advertisers to please stop ruining our precious music by putting it into your commercials. Y'all were doing just fine composing your own music anyway. Besides, whenever I see a commercial that ruins one of my favorite songs I make a mental note NOT ONLY to NOT buy the product advertised, but also NOT TO BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM THAT COMPANY AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE UNTIL THE DAY THAT I DIE!!! And I urge others who read this petition to do the same! No disrespect intended advertisers - what you are doing is really really bad so expect a little blowback. Please consider that the music my generation gave to the world is and was like no music ever imagined before or since, and was one of our greatest achievements. You are destroying precious cultural gemstones!
