Ricardo Avitia for City Council started this petition to area residnets and businesses and

The City of Fort Worth Zoning Commission has approved a Staff Report to change the Zoning from "I" light industrial to "D" High Density Residential at 3500 S Jennings and 500 W Biddison St in Southside.

Doing so would allow Ojala Holdings Inc to build a 4 story apartment complex with approximately 300 new units on the premises. However, doing so would also raise the Commercial property taxes for everyone on Hemphill. This would greatly affect all of our local businesses. Tacos and Burritos would be as expensive as going to Magnolia or 7th street to eat. More people also means higher crime and a more congested Hemphill St which already congested and only has 1 lane each way.

Apartments are not the answer to Southside's issues. We need better lighting, improved streets and infrastructure, and more support from our elected officials.

It it time we come together as a community again to have our voices heard once more. Before we allow outsiders come into our communities to "make it better" we need our elected officials to come in and do their job by answering why we keep asking for the same things and nothing happens. We have an opportunity to create the community we envision for our future generations. We can do it together.

Say No to the Spot Re-Zoning of this property. Zoning Case # ZC 21 - 089.
