In the past 20 years I’m working exclusively in the area of Children and adults with intellectual disabilities & Autism as a specialist.

Experts do not know exactly what causes autism. In the past, people simply blamed parental practices, which added a burden of guilt and shame on parents already struggling to cope with a child with a disability. Today, most scientists/researches believe that a combination of genetic and environmental factors cause autism.
Recent research confirms my multiple genetic abnormalities that can predisposition someone to autism. In addition, there may be metabolic or biochemical factors that can cause autism. Other research is looking at environmental triggers, over the last decade, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of children diagnosed with autism around the world. Experts do not know if this is because the disorder is actually on the rise, or if specialists are “diagnosing autism more effectively” which can really help the children to start the multidisciplinary ‘early interventions’ from early years forward. We should learn more answers to questions over the next few years, because many researchers are currently looking into autism's origins, prevalence, and treatment forward..

I’m signing because Fr. Valamnal perhaps should consider studying the topic of Autism in further before judging the fantastic parents & siblings of people who has a referred diagnoses of Autism.
