Local community organizers in Dayton, OH, are looking for a little help from their neighbors and asking for their support to establish a Sister City relationship between Dayton, OH and the Governorate of Salfit, Palestine. Dayton currently has official sister cities with cities in Germany, Japan, Liberia, Israel, England and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The Dayton Sister City Committee is a member of Sister Cities International. SCI mission is to "Promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation - one individual, one community at a time."

As you may know, attempts to establish official sister cities with Palestine are often met with skepticism. However, recent successful programs in cities like Boulder, CO, Muscatine, IA and Sacramento, CA, give us optimism that we can succeed in Dayton. We believe this people driven diplomacy will offer the diverse Dayton community an opportunity to gain a better understanding of a community in Palestine and an opportunity for exciting cultural and social exchanges.
