Hello,

I believe students should have the right to determine whether they want to keep their camera on during zoom or any online meeting class. Here’s why: A lot of students are insecure and get bullied. I’ve seen many people take screenshots of students faces and photoshopping embarrassing faces. Secondly it stresses people out when the have their camera on. I personally stress out when I’m forced to turn it on and cannot focus. Next, students will lose self confidence when staring at their face for an entire hour. Lastly it invades our privacy, (4th amendment) we are being recorded. There should be no obligation and a personal choice to whether or not if student wants to show their face. The teachers shouldn’t be allowed to force kids to turn on camera. One teacher threatened to remove a kid for the class if they didn’t keep it on. Online school is already stressful enough, this is just making our lives harder and running our mental health. If you really care about your students, please be considerate and take immediate action. Thank You!
