Michelle Rush started this petition to AR Supreme Court

This was my post on FB today, I think this sums up what I wanted to get across. These are my thoughts and opinions, and you're probably not going to change mine, just like I probably won't change yours, but my voice will never be heard if I don't speak it. There's no sense in arguing with each other.
The AR legislation has overridden the HB 1570 that was vetoed by our lovely Gov. Asa H.
What does this mean for Trans Youth and their families? To me, this means that AR will see a rise in suicide rates, depression, anxiety, and the list goes on an on. Not only with the person it directly affects, but their families as well. Their families have to watch them go through whatever kind of pain (physical harm, mental, emotional, etc) they are now going to have to go through until they are of legal age to act as an adult. These people, and let me be perfectly clear, it DOES NOT matter if they are 12 or 20 or 67, their rights are human rights, because they are human beings. They have feelings, they have their right as a Trans person to be whatever gender preference they want to be. It's not up to you, nor is it up to the Government. It sickens me to think that someone can't make their own decision. I don't care how old they are. AGAIN, they are HUMAN!
Those of you that support this decision, I am sorry you feel like you have to be so judgemental on what other people do with their lives and how their families and health care providers handle their lives. Chances are, they go to those health care professions BECAUSE of how they've been treated and to get the help they need. Why is it wrong for their HCP to treat them? If they are under 18, surely their parents know and support it otherwise LEGALLY the HCP couldn't provide treatment without parental/guardian consent. Please, I beg you. Think about it, keep politics and religion out of it.
That aside, the ACLU is already currently preparing legislation and I pray it goes to the AR Supreme Court for the Override to be denied and HB 1570 will not go into effect. At all. Ever.
Stop it. You're messing with people's lives. One life lost because some arrogant jerk in politics or government position doesn't like what others do with their own lives is one too many. It's all based on people's opinions, not taking consideration how it actually AFFECTS humans.
Also, those that support this? What are you teaching your children? That it's ok to prevent other humans to live their own life and be independent and love who they are?
Aren't you trying to show them that it's ok to be safe in their own skin and in the social world? How many of you were bullied because you were fat, a different race, too skinny, etc.? I could go on and on.
FOR THE LOVE OF OUR HUMAN RACE BE A GOOD PERSON. It doesn't take much. Please don't come at me. I usually don't even voice my opinion or thoughts, but this, this changes peoples lives, personally and directly.
Quotes from 2 articles in support of the the VETO:
“In the midst of a devastating and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we should be expanding access to health care and making it more affordable, not advancing bills that make it harder for LGBTQ Arkansans to receive the care they need,” said Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David, who urged Hutchinson to veto the measure.
With the bill, “we position ourselves as being not open and welcoming like we’ve portrayed ourselves to be,” Randy Zook, the chamber of commerce president and CEO, said.
The Walmart Foundation, a nonprofit organization run by the state's largest business, Walmart, issued a statement Tuesday (April 6) calling the challenge to LGBTQ rights in the state "alarming."
“We are alarmed by the string of policy targeting LGBTQ people in Arkansas. This trend is harmful and sends the wrong message to those willing to invest in or visit our state. We support Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s recent veto of discriminatory policy and implore government, business and community leaders to consider the impact of existing and future policy that limits basic freedoms and does not promote inclusiveness in our communities and economy.
Our nation was built on inalienable rights and strengthened by individual differences. Arkansas has been called the land of opportunity because it is a place where anyone can think big and achieve the extraordinary. Any policy that limits individual opportunity also limits our state’s potential.”
– Tom Walton, Home Region Program Committee Chair – Walton Family Foundation

Please sign this petition to send HB 1570 that was Vetoed by Arkansas Gov. Asa H. and overridden by the AR Legislation today (April 6, 2021) to be taken to the AR Supreme Court as ACLU is currently preparing their litigations. Please help us protect our LGBTQ+ members and families. Government should not have the power to make choices for a person's individual preferences and HCP treatment.
