Why this petition matters

Long Beach Wilson High School's Boys Lacrosse program was founded back in 2016. Since then it has become a team which prides itself on creating a sense of community and family for all those included. Young men with little to no experience have joined Wilson's Lacrosse team and found home, being surrounded by an incredible group of scholar athletes and lead by the best of coaches.

Because of the sense of community built by the program, a first ever Wilson Lacrosse alumni game was scheduled for June 5th! A chance for new and old Wilson players to meet eachother, share stories, and play on the field together for the very first time.

A week after recieving the green light on this operation, this opportunity was taken away, with concerns of the event being too much of a safety and equipment liability.

All across the nation, high school and college lacrosse programs host alumni games as a chance for team-building and lighthearted fun. In these games, there isn't an aggressive or cutthroat mentality taken by any player, returning or former, because unlike in regular season games, they are playing with their brothers.

Long Beach Wilson alumni, families, and the current team are upset over this development and are hoping to have this chance to bring the lacrosse family together for a fun, nostalgic, and safe time.

If you think that the Wilson High School Lacrosse program should have an alumni game this summer please sign in support of this team which has become a home for so many student athletes!
