The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a list of journals called CARE journals on 14th June 2019 and has now made it mandatory for all prospective applicants to universities and colleges to publish only in these journals.

At one stroke, this renders all the hard work in terms of publications done before the said date as invalid and renders most of the college/university teachers and research scholars who re the potential applicants for jobs in colleges and universities ineligible.

The application of such a rule retrospectively does gross injustice and should be revoked. 

Further, there are many other problems with the CARE list as the prevalence of questionable journals, absence of  journals in many Indian languages etc.

I appeal to all the faculty and research scholars to sign this petition to ensure  fair recruitment policy.
