Same thing happened on my 2018 15" MacBook Pro just after warranty ended. Apple wants $700 to fix it. This needs to be a recall or a free fix.

Got the same issue after 2 and a half years... it is outrageous with all the money spent on the macbook that apple now ask me more than 600 euro to replace the whole screen. This is clearly a flaw that need to be covered by Apple itslef.
