Ru C started this petition to Apple

The Sikh community has been under attack from hate crimes for decades now. Most recently, a 64-year-old Sikh man named Paramjit Singh was fatally stabbed during a nighttime stroll in Tracy, CA. Such incidents are not unheard of.

Turbans seem to outcast Sikhs, often looked at as a terrorist symbol, which is definitely not true. For years, this community has been misunderstood and unrepresented. As Sikh youth ourselves, we petition directly to Apple to include a Khanda symbol in their wide range of emojis after the next IOS update. The Khanda symbolizes one of Sikhism's most prudent beliefs: One God. Essentially, this is a representation of humility, respect, and peace.

We hope that if Apple does include this, people will search up what it is and that'll lead to more education about Sikhism. Samsung has already included this necessary symbol. We request that Apple, the world's biggest technology producer, will bring some light to this misunderstood religion.
