Apple avoided paying up to $2.4billion in taxes last year. The American public who buys Apple products pays top dollar for products made overseas, and in most cases they work hard for their money and pay their taxes. At the same time, Apple is causing job losses by moving its manufacturing overseas and skipping out on paying its share of taxes to the US. The tax money Apple should have paid could have supported thousands of high school arts programs; could have provided thousands of breakfasts and lunches for children in public schools located in impoverished cities; could have supported thousands of day care centers so mothers could go back to work; and could have funded thousands of jobs right here in the United States. Close the loopholes that allow US corporations to avoid paying their share of taxes.
