Baby Boomers & Beyond Demand “Senior Mode” For All Smartphone & Tablet Apps

TechDad is starting a petition to the tech industry for a mandated “senior mode.” This will ensure that app makers commit to a setting where buttons stay in the same place, do the same thing, and don’t automatically change in look and feel on a whim. They will also leave out unnecessary features and bloat that are not important to most Baby Boomers and beyond.
Seniors have the largest percentage of disposable income to invest in technological enhancements in their lives, whether its aging-in-place-related , wellness, or simply entertainment-focused.
Non digital natives, let’s call them the “Dial, Button & Switch natives,” should not be marginalized by developers and manufacturers and made to feel, well, stupid, when they have such an important and growing role in the tech economy.
Apple, Google and Amazon could easily make this a universal reality by requiring “Senior Mode” of all developers who sell apps (paid or free) in their app stores.
