There is a rat emoji, there is a mouse emoji, there are other animal emojis, however, the beloved opossum has been left out of the mix. The opossum is a helpful member of our ecosystem. They are very docile, whenever they are threatened they play dead as an involuntary response. The average opossum eats around 5,000 ticks each year. You may think they are rapid, however, their low body temperature makes it nearly impossible for them to contact rabies. If you live in the United States, then you should know they are our only marsupial and we need to be more appreciative of them. If none of this convinced you about how amazing the opossum is, then I have one more pull factor, their overall cuteness. Just look at an opossum for a few minutes and just try and tell me they aren't the sweetest thing you have ever seen. In conclusion I believe that the opossum deserves their own emoji.
