App State has consistently prioritized profit over their staff and students safety, and the recent concert that brought 32,000 individuals into a close space has made it incredibly apparent. Nothing has been done to make students and staff feel safe in the wake of such a careless and hazardous event. Staff and students should have a larger say in the current Covid situation, as it is their health and safety that is on the line. 

In the wake of the large event hosted on campus, classes should be moved virtually for 2 weeks so that students who were exposed or contracted Covid at the event may quarantine safely and not put other students at risk. Following the return to campus, social distancing should be enforced in classrooms and on campus. Staff should be allowed to make their own calls as to how their classes will process, whether that be online or in person. Masks and testing should be enforced, not just encouraged, especially among the unvaccinated population on campus. The safety of the community of not only App state, but of Boone as a whole has been carelessly risked for the sake of a profit. In order to keep the community safe, the aforementioned guidelines should be enforced asap.
