I am an alumnus of APRJC, Kodigena Halli (Hindupur, Ananthapur district, Andhra Pradesh)
During my recent visit to the college the following were noted:1) There are still no proper sanitation facilities at the college. Around 250 students are left to the practice of defecating outside and not into a designated toilet. When the Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh launched various programs under ‘Swacha Bharath Campaign’ urging people to use toilets and stop ‘Open defecating’, you being a government entity did not implement the same.2) The strength of the total number of students at the college for various courses were increased from the year 2010-11 without correspondingly increasing the infrastructure facilities like dormitories, bathrooms etc3) The building i.e canteen/mess, where food is served, requires renovation especially the ceiling. It wouldn’t be appropriate to wait for some accidents to occur and then take up any renovations.4) For most of the subjects, there is no at least one regular lecturer. This would leave no meaning to ‘Gurukulams’ without ‘Gurus.’ STEPS TO BE TAKEN:a) Provide proper sanitary facilities to the studentsb) Provide a post - ‘scavenger’ for maintaining the Toilets.c) Construct dormitories as per the requirement of total number of students.d) Undertake renovation of ‘Mess/canteen building’ at the earliest.e) Recruit regular lecturers for various subjects.
